Some transitions announce themselves loudly —A new job. A breakup. A move across the world. Others arrive quietly —The slow fade of meaning, a growing restlessness, the sense that who you are today no longer fits the life you built.
Whether loud or silent, transitions share one thing: They unsettle our inner compass.
The In-Between Space
Transitions often feel like standing in a hallway between two rooms. The door behind you has closed, but the one ahead hasn’t opened yet. You’re not who you were, but not yet who you’re becoming.
This space — the in-between — is where so many of my clients find themselves when they reach out.
They say things like:
"I’ve done everything I was supposed to, so why do I feel lost?"
"I know something needs to change, but I don’t know what."
"I’m exhausted from trying to figure it all out on my own."
This place can feel frustrating, even frightening. But it’s also sacred.
Because it’s in this unknown that something true is trying to surface.
Why We Resist Change (Even When We Crave It)
We say we want change, but we secretly want it to be painless, fast, and crystal clear.
In reality, change is often messy. It asks us to question who we’ve been, what we’ve accepted, and what no longer fits.
It asks us to:
Let go of certainty
Grieve old identities
Risk being seen in new ways
No wonder it feels overwhelming. No wonder we procrastinate or try to “figure it out” in our heads while continuing life on autopilot.
But here’s what I’ve learned — both personally and through guiding others:
Clarity rarely arrives in a perfectly formed answer. It reveals itself gradually… when you slow down enough to listen.
✨ 10 Small Ways to Move From Overwhelm to Empowerment During a Transition
Breathe before you plan
Transitions aren’t puzzles to solve. Start by creating space, not strategies.
Name the chapter you’re in
Is this a letting-go season? A pause? A reawakening? Giving it a name gives it shape.
Resist the pressure to “figure it all out”
The goal isn’t perfection. It’s alignment. What feels most honest right now?
Notice what drains you vs. what nourishes you
Energy is information. Where are you forcing? Where do you feel free?
Let your identity shift
You’re allowed to outgrow things — jobs, roles, dreams, versions of yourself.
Stop outsourcing your intuition
Advice can be helpful, but you already carry deep knowing. Practice listening inward.
Redefine what success looks like in this season
Maybe it’s rest. Maybe it’s reimagining. Maybe it’s staying with the unknown.
Connect with others who get it
Transitions can be isolating. Find spaces where your not-yet-knowing is welcome.
Create small rituals of grounding
Journaling. Walking. Lighting a candle. Repetition anchors us when everything else feels fluid.
Remember: this is temporary
No matter how foggy it feels now, clarity returns. You’re becoming someone new — let it be slow, and let it be real.
You’re Not Behind — You’re Becoming
If you’re in a transition right now, this isn’t a detour. It’s the path.
You’re allowed to be unsure. You’re allowed to feel both hope and grief at once. And you don’t have to navigate it alone.
I work with people who are in these in-between places — between roles, between identities, between the life they built and the one they long for.
If that’s you, and you want a space to breathe, reflect, and reconnect with what’s true for you… I’d be honored to walk a few steps beside you.
Whenever you're ready.
With warmth,
Karolina
